Pilot Officer Shafali Choudhry (First woman pilot of the Indian
Air force) is Dagshanian to be proud of who studied from class
K.G. to X, Passing out in 1981. She was awarded the 'Sarvotamm
Jeevan Raksha Padak' for sacrificing her life while rescuing
some officers from a bog.
Pilot Shafali Choudhry Memorial has been constructed at commissioner
Chauraha in Bareilly to commemorate her supreme sacrifice.
It is a 30ft. high pillar of black granite lined with white
marble with I.A. F Eagle at the top.

| To name a few - Giani Zail Singh, Ex-President
of India, visited the school during his tenure as Chief Minister
of Punjab; late Babu Jagjiwan Ram, Defence Minister,
Govt. of India, visited the school on Oct.10th, 1971 and late
S. Partap Singh Kairon, Chief Minister of Punjab also
paid a visit to the school.The school has been visited recently
by His Excellency V.S. Kokje, Governor Himachal Pradesh,
Air Vice Marshal N. Thusu, VM, Air Officer Commanding,
Western Command and Honourable Kuldip Singh, Justice
(Retd.), Supreme Court of India. |
